Imran Khan Files Nomination for Oxford University Chancellorship from Prison

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has submitted his nomination papers for the Chancellorship of Oxford University despite his current imprisonment. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) confirmed the news on Sunday, announcing that Khan’s application for the 2024 Chancellor Election has been filed.

PTI leader Zulfikar Bukhari shared the update on social media, expressing hope for support in this historic campaign. Khan, who previously served as Chancellor of the University of Bradford from 2005 to 2014, is an Oxford alumnus.

Currently, Khan is incarcerated in Rawalpindi, facing multiple legal challenges, including corruption and inciting violence charges, which he denies. While two of his convictions have been overturned and a third is on hold, he remains in custody. Khan, 72, was removed from office in April 2022 through a no-confidence vote.
