PTI Founder Imran Khan Turned Down Offer To Leave Pakistan, Claims Arif Alvi

Source: Business Recorder/The Express Tribune

Former President Dr. Arif Alvi revealed on Wednesday that PTI founder Imran Khan had declined an offer to leave Pakistan. During a conversation with journalists, Dr. Alvi stated that despite being encouraged to “strike a deal and leave the country,” Khan chose to remain and face the consequences.

Dr. Alvi asserted that those conspiring to sentence Khan would ultimately fail. He also clarified that any future dialogue would involve stakeholders, excluding non-stakeholders. Furthermore, Alvi mentioned that Khan has expressed a willingness to forgive all once he is free.

In a related development, Dr. Alvi supported Imran Khan’s controversial post about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on social media. Addressing a lawyers’ convention, the former president argued that Khan’s call to read the Hamoodur Rahman Commission (HRC) report was not an act of treason.

Alvi criticized the practice of labeling individuals as traitors for merely reading a report, praising Hamoodur Rahman as an honest judge, and noting that his son currently serves at the Federal Shariat Court.
