In an unexpected turn for events, authorities in Pune have launched an inquiry after a Rs.20 Pakistani currency note was discovered inside Manas Lake Housing Society in Bhukum village. The note was found near a service lift by the society’s chairman, Sahdev Yadav, who promptly informed the police.
The case is being handled by the Bavdhan police station under the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad police. Given the society’s proximity to the National Defence Academy (NDA), located just 18km away, the discovery has raised security concerns. However, no formal complaint (FIR) has been registered yet.

Investigators face a challenge as the CCTV camera near the lift has been out of order since November 24, making it difficult to trace the origin of the note. The police are now analyzing other surveillance footage from the premises and questioning residents to gather more information.
While authorities have not yet determined any potential threat, the investigation continues to rule out any suspicious activity. Residents have been urged to report anything unusual to ensure community safety.
