The unsuspecting passenger, who had anticipated a modest fare of ₹62 for his journey, was left utterly dumbfounded by the astronomical figure that greeted him on his app upon reaching the destination.

The bizarre incident gained traction after Deepak’s friend, Ashish Mishra, shared a video capturing the bewildering moment on social media platform X. In the video, Deepak can be seen incredulously repeating the mind-boggling amount displayed on his Uber bill – a whopping ₹7,66,83,762.
Analysis of the bill revealed that Deepak was charged an exorbitant ₹1,67,74,647 as the “Trip fare”. With additional waiting time costs amounting to a staggering ₹5,99,09189. Despite the surreal situation, the bill also included a deduction of ₹75 labeled as a promotional cost.
Amid the surreal situation, humor prevailed as Deepak jokingly remarked about encountering an unprecedented number of zeros in his bill. His friend Ashish chimed in, humorously comparing the fare to the cost of a trip to space.

As the video gained traction online, Uber India’s official X page apologized, assuring Deepak that they were investigating the matter. This bizarre incident echoes a similar occurrence last year, where a North Carolina Uber driver raked in over $28,000 by strategically canceling trips.
