Iran is reportedly preparing a “strong and complex” attack on Isr@el involving advanced warheads and weaponry not used in previous assaults this year, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sources indicate that the offensive could occur during the U.S. presidential transition between the election on Tuesday and the January 20 inauguration.
The planned attack comes after Isr@el’s retaliatory strikes on October 26, which followed an Iranian ballistic missile assault on October 1. Iran’s response will reportedly include its regular army, not just the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), due to casualties from Isr@el’s counter-strikes that left four soldiers and a civilian dead.
An Iranian official suggested that part of the operation could be launched from Iraq, where missile movements have been detected. Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated it would use all resources to counter Isr@el. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and IRGC chief Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami has publicly threatened severe consequences.

The United States has warned Iran of “severe consequences” should it proceed with an attack. U.S. military assets, including B-52 bombers and Navy warships, have been deployed to strengthen the Middle East’s defenses, with advanced systems like THAAD already operational in Isr@el.
