Iraqi Man Salwan Momika Who Burned Quran Multiple Times Found Dead In Norway

Salwan Sabah Matti Momika, a controversial Iraqi refugee known for his vocal criticism of Islam, was found dead in Norway. As per reports, Momika, 37, had recently relocated from Sweden to Norway, seeking asylum amid escalating tensions surrounding his Quran-burning protests and ongoing legal battles.

Salwan Momika, born on June 23, 1986, in northern Iraq, initially gained prominence for his activism against the Islamic State in his homeland. As a former member of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), he fought against the terrorist organization and was associated with various militia groups.

However, upon resettling in Sweden as a refugee, Momika shifted his focus towards denouncing Islam. He gained infamy for publicly organizing demonstrations where he burned the Holy Quran. His provocative actions stirred widespread controversy and condemnation, drawing death threats and violent attacks against him.

Despite facing expulsion from Sweden due to his inflammatory activities, Momika decided to seek asylum in neighboring Norway. Citing what he perceived as persecution by Swedish authorities. In an interview published on March 27, Momika expressed his disillusionment with Sweden, accusing the country of prioritizing asylum for terrorists over “intellectuals”.
