Iraqi Youth Set Fire to MBC Office in Baghdad Over Controversial Broadcast

Source: AhlulBayt News Agency

A group of Iraqi youth set fire to the Saudi broadcaster MBC’s office in Baghdad after the channel aired a controversial report insulting the commanders of the Resistance. The incident occurred near Baghdad University, where the protesters stormed the MBC office, damaging equipment inside the building.

The attack followed a weekend program in which MBC labeled the Resistance leaders, including the late General Qassem Soleimani and Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as terrorists. This led to widespread anger among Iraqi citizens, who shared calls for the channel’s closure on social media.

Security forces at the scene were unable to stop the crowd from entering the building. Palestinian group Hamas condemned MBC’s broadcast, calling it a “moral decline” and demanding an apology.
