A man in Islamabad was reportedly shot dead by his family after publicly announcing his conversion from Christianity to Islam on Facebook. The victim, identified as Muhammad Zaffar Abbas, formerly known as Arman Joseph, allegedly faced fatal opposition from his family over his decision to embrace Islam.

Reports indicate Abbas was shot 32 times by family members who strongly disapproved of his conversion. The incident gained widespread attention after Komal Ahmad Moavia, a Facebook friend, shared details of the tragedy on social media. She highlighted that Abbas had faced significant personal challenges following his conversion, including divorce from his wife, who took custody of their children, and expulsion from his family home.

Images of Abbas in a red T-shirt, reportedly from his Facebook account, have been shared widely on social media, intensifying the public outcry. An account on X (formerly Twitter) also shared details, sparking further discussions about religious intolerance and violence.
