The Israeli government celebrated Donald Trump’s recent victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election with large billboards in Tel Aviv and West Jerusalem, proclaiming, “Congratulations Trump, Make Israel Great!” The billboards underscored the strong support for Trump’s return among Israeli leaders.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the Republican president-elect, calling Trump’s win “history’s greatest comeback.” Netanyahu stated that Trump’s return to the White House marked “a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”
Leaders from Israel’s hard-right nationalist and religious parties joined in celebrating Trump’s victory, especially following recent sanctions and asset freezes imposed by the Biden administration on settler groups involved in West Bank violence against Palestinians.
During Trump’s first term, his administration made landmark decisions favoring Israel, including recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and supporting Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

According to the Israel Democracy Institute, nearly two-thirds of Israelis believe Trump would be better for Israel’s interests than his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.
