Israr Kakar, a student hailing from Balochistan, has scripted history by being elected as the President of the Oxford Union, marking a significant milestone for both his home province and Pakistan.

Kakar’s ascent to this prestigious position is remarkable, as he became the first individual from Balochistan and the third Pakistani overall to hold this esteemed role.

Originating from the Qilla Abdullah district in Balochistan, Kakar follows in the footsteps of trailblazers such as Benazir Bhutto, who became the first Pakistani to hold the position in 1977, and Ahmad Nawaz, a survivor of the APS School Peshawar attack.
