Jacinda Ardern To Step Down As New Zealand’s Prime Minister Next Month

After serving as the Prime Minister of New Zealand for five long years, Jacinda Ardern earlier this week announced that she will resign from the office in the coming month.

As per the official details, on Thursday, Jacinda Ardern while addressing the members of her Labour Party announced that she is totally burnt out and will be stepping down as the PM of New Zealand next month.

French international news agency broke the news on Twitter

“I am human. We give as much as we can for as long as we can and then it’s time. And for me, it’s time. I just don’t have enough in the tank for another four years. I am not leaving because I believe we cannot win the next election, but because I believe we can and will,” Ardern stated.

Further, she said that this job demands a lot and it’s time she put a stop to it. “I am leaving because with such a privileged job comes a big responsibility. The responsibility to know when you are the right person to lead — and also when you’re not”, ended the PM.

Well, it sure seems enough for Jacinda Ardern but she definitely managed to grab the world’s attention in her 5-year-long tenure.
