Newly released documents reveal a concerning pattern of behavior from President Joe Biden’s dog, Commander, who reportedly bit US Secret Service agents on at least 24 occasions. The German Shepherd’s aggressive episodes caused significant disruption for the presidential bodyguards, with agents advised to maintain ample distance from the canine.
The US Secret Service records
According to US Secret Service records spanning from October 2022 to July 2023, Commander’s biting incidents included various body parts of the agents, ranging from wrists and forearms to elbows, waists, chests, thighs, and shoulders.
The frequency and severity of these attacks underscore the challenges faced by the Secret Service in ensuring the safety of the presidential entourage. While pets are often cherished members of the family, Commander’s behavior raises serious concerns about the potential risks posed by aggressive animals, especially in high-security environments such as the White House.
