Karachi’s bustling streets have come to a standstill as Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) continues its widespread protests across the city. Sparked by the situation in Parachinar, these sit-ins have expanded from Numaish Chowrangi to various key locations, creating significant disruptions for commuters.
The protests have caused the closure of several major roads, including MA Jinnah Road at Numaish Chowrangi and Abul Hasan Ispahani Road near Abbas Town, both now inaccessible. Five-Star Chowrangi and University Road, from Metro Shopping Center to Nipa Chowrangi, are also entirely blocked.
Main Shahrah-e-Faisal is closed from Kala Pul to Malir Road, while the National Highway near Malir 15 Bridge remains shut in both directions. These closures have compounded traffic jams, leaving residents struggling to navigate the city.
To ease the chaos, Karachi Traffic Police have implemented diversions. Routes from Malir, Korangi Industrial Area, and Clifton Defence now pass through Sanghar Chowrangi, Shah Faisal Colony, and Shama Shopping Center to the airport. Commuters from Pehlwan Goth are advised to take the Karsaz, Drig Road, and Johar Chowrangi route.
Other diversions include Power House Chowrangi to Service Road and Gulberg Chowrangi to Water Pump Chowrangi. Incholi Shahrah-e-Pakistan is closed toward Sohrab Goth, adding further strain to the city’s traffic flow.

Authorities urge commuters to stay updated on traffic diversions, which may change as the situation evolves. Karachi’s residents are advised to plan their routes carefully and remain patient as efforts continue to manage the ongoing disruptions.
