Karachi Heatwave Kills Over 150 Animals In Just 3 Days: Report

Source: Arab News

Karachi is suffering from a severe heatwave, leading to the deaths of over 150 animals due to the extreme temperatures in just three days.

The Karachi Dairy Cattle Farms Association spokesperson, Shabir Dar, confirmed the deaths and highlighted the negative impact on milk production due to the heat-affected animals. Farmers are facing significant losses due to the lack of timely veterinary treatment available for their livestock.

The heatwave is expected to persist across most of Pakistan, with only isolated areas in the north and west experiencing potential windstorms, thunderstorms, and rain. While some scattered rain occurred in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Barkhan yesterday, the vast majority of the country continues to face hot and dry conditions.
