The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a new initiative to provide free meals to primary school students in public schools. This program, aimed at enhancing student health and learning, will initially be rolled out in Abbottabad and Swat.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, who chaired the approval meeting in Peshawar, emphasized the program’s significance as a major welfare initiative. The plan is to extend the program to all divisional headquarters in urban areas across the province.

Around 70,000 primary school children are expected to benefit from this scheme, ensuring they receive daily nutritious meals. The Chief Minister highlighted that this program not only aims to support students’ well-being but also to improve their educational experience by addressing nutritional needs.
