A traffic warden in Lahore has achieved an outstanding accomplishment by obtaining a PhD while continuing his demanding duty hours. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman, who serves the Lahore Traffic Police has recently obtained a doctorate in South Asian Studies from the University of the Punjab, focusing on “Pakistan-China Relations”.
Inspiring act by traffic warden on duty!
Despite limited resources, Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman has shown remarkable dedication to his education and has set an inspiring example for many. Commending his achievement, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) in Lahore, Ammara Athar announced an appreciation certificate for him.
Interestingly, Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman is not the only highly educated traffic warden in Lahore. Among the 3,100 traffic wardens, ten hold PhD degrees, 150 have M.Phil degrees and 80 possess Master’s degrees in various subjects.
Some of them also have degrees in French Science, Molecular Biology, and English Literature and have completed M.Phil in fields like Law, Economics, Mathematics, Criminology, and International Relations.The wardens with M.Phil degrees receive a monthly bonus of Rs5,000, while those with PhD degrees receive a bonus of Rs10,000.

It is evident that the Lahore Traffic Police recognizes the value of education and encourages its officers to pursue their academic goals. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman’s success serves as an inspiration to others to pursue their dreams and never give up on their education, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.
