London has been named the world’s best city for the tenth consecutive year in the 2025 Resonance World’s Best Cities report. The UK capital retained its top position due to its unmatched cultural offerings, transportation connectivity, and vibrant social scene, including globally renowned events like London Fashion Week and the Notting Hill Carnival.
Key infrastructure advancements, such as the opening of the Elizabeth Line and the Camden Highline project, contributed to London’s continued success. The city ranked first in seven out of the 28 subcategories evaluated, which included museums, global connectivity, and social media presence.
The annual rankings, compiled by Resonance Consultancy, assess cities based on livability, cultural appeal, and economic prosperity. London’s consistent performance across these metrics has solidified its global dominance.

- Singapore
- Rome (Italy)
- Madrid (Spain)
- Barcelona (Spain)
- Berlin (Germany)
- Sydney (Australia)
Indian cities, however, lagged behind, with Delhi and Mumbai missing the top 100. Despite progress in urbanization and economic growth, challenges in infrastructure and public safety prevented these cities from securing higher global rankings.

The US led the rankings with 36 cities in the top 100 while emerging destinations like Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro made notable appearances.
