The dilemma of the dissolution of provincial assemblies recently caught pace after the summary submitted by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) got approved.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly dissolved on CM Mahmood Khan’s advice
According to the sources, the KP assembly has been officially dissolved after governor Haji Ghulam Ali signed the summary which was sent to him a day ago from CM Mahmood Khan. The big decision was made on Tuesday during the provincial government’s final cabinet meeting headed by the CM.
Previously, the Punjab governor Baligh ur Rehman had also received the summary to dissolve the provincial assembly but he refused to be part of the process and didn’t sign it.
Now, it doesn’t matter if the governor signs the summary or not, as per the constitution, the Punjab assembly will automatically be dissolved in the next 48 hours.
