England Test cricket captain Ben Stokes revealed that his home in the Castle Eden area was burgled by a masked gang while he was away in Pakistan for the recent tour. The burglary occurred on the evening of Thursday, October 17, during the second Test match, where England eventually faced a 152-run defeat in a 2-1 series loss.

Stokes, 33, shared on social media that his wife, Claire, and their children, Layton and Libby, were inside the house during the incident. “By far the worst thing about this crime is that it was carried out whilst my wife and two young children were in the house,” he wrote. Fortunately, his family was not physically harmed, but the experience took an emotional toll on them.

The robbers stole various items, including jewelry and personal belongings, with significant sentimental value. Stokes emphasized, “Many of those items have real sentimental value for me and my family. They are irreplaceable.”
