In a recent document, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) claimed that the country currently has the second-highest average mobile broadband speed in all of South Asia.
Pakistan’s mobile internet speed better than India
According to PTA, Pakistan’s average mobile broadband download speed is 20.84 Mbps which is way better as compared to other South Asian countries. The claims were made after analyzing the data collected last year in 2022 when Pakistan ranked 114th in the world regarding mobile internet speed and came at 150th for fixed broadband speeds.
As compared to Pakistan’s average mobile broadband download speed which is 20.84 Mbps, India’s average download speed is recorded at 19.57 Mbps, Bangladesh’s is 16.33 Mbps and Nepal’s stands at 20.60 Mbps. Sri Lanka however takes the lead in the South Asian region as its average mobile broadband download speed stands at 20.90 Mbps, a little more than Pakistan.
Moreover, the 3G and 4G services are available to 75% and 78% of Pakistanis respectively.
