Pakistani left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has set a new record for the most maiden overs bowled by a pacer in Twenty20 (T20) cricket. Playing for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Amir achieved this milestone during a match against the Barbados Royals.

Defending a total of 177 runs, Amir bowled a brilliant first over, delivering a maiden to hard-hitting Barbados opener Rakheem Cornwall. Cornwall managed only a leg-bye off the last ball, highlighting Amir’s precision and control. With this maiden over, Amir’s total tally in T20 cricket rose to 25, surpassing India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who previously held the record with 24 maiden overs.
