After Pakistan’s thrilling 152-run win over England in the second Test at Multan, some fans began trolling Babar Azam on social media, sarcastically suggesting that the team’s success was due to his absence. Pakistan’s selectors had dropped key players, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah, to give them time to regain form.
In response, former fast bowler Mohammad Amir took to social media to defend Babar and the team, addressing the negativity surrounding their victory. Amir urged fans to stop making personal attacks on players and instead focus on performance.
Amir posted on X, stating “Please stop this negative mindset that says the team only won because Babar wasn’t playing or certain players weren’t in the team. We played with better planning, took advantage of being at home, and won. Please don’t get personal with your players. Discuss performance, but don’t make it personal.”
