In a significant show of support and recognition, members of the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team were invited to meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This meeting follows the team’s recent triumph at the Asian Wheelchair Championship in Nepal, where they emerged victorious against Sri Lanka in the final match.

During the gathering, Chairman Naqvi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team for clinching the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup 2023 title. In acknowledgment of their remarkable achievement, he presented the team with a cheque of PKR1.5 million. Naqvi praised the team’s dedication and perseverance, and he assured them of the PCB’s unwavering support for their future endeavors.
“The team’s victory is a testament to their hard work and determination. We are proud of their achievements and will continue to support them in every possible way”, Naqvi remarked.
The players expressed their gratitude for the recognition and encouragement from the PCB. They conveyed their appreciation for the support that has helped them reach significant milestones in wheelchair cricket.
Present at the meeting were notable figures from the wheelchair cricket community, including Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council Chairperson Rukhsana Rajput, team captain Mohammad Zeeshan, vice-captain Imran Arain, batter Syed Arsalan Ahmed, wicketkeeper-batter Muazzam Nawaz, and bowler Mohammad Fayyaz.
