In a nail-biting encounter, Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets to book their place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 final. The Sultans’ combined bowling effort restricted Zalmi to a modest total of 146 runs. Despite a solid knock by the captain Babar Azam, who scored 46 runs off 42 balls, Zalmi failed to put up a challenging score.
Yasir Khan’s half-century seals the deal!
Multan Sultans got off to a flying start, thanks to Yasir Khan’s blistering half-century. Yasir was the core aggressor of the opening stand, scoring 54 runs off just 37 balls. He received notable support from Usman Khan who carried his bat all the way through with an unbeaten 36 off 28 deliveries to steer the Sultans to a comfortable victory.
The Sultans’ win was a true team effort with contributions from Mohammad Ali, Abbas Afridi and David Wiley who took a wicket each. Usama Mir and Chris Jordan led the bowling attack for the Sultans, taking two wickets each.
