Weeks after a brazen shooting incident outside his Mumbai residence, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was once again targeted by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, this time near his Panvel farmhouse. Mumbai Police officials confirmed the arrest of four gang members suspected of planning the attack.
AK-47 plot: Busted!
Deputy Commissioner Vivek Pansare identified the arrested as Dhananjay Tapesingh, Gaurav Bhatia, Vapsi Khan, and Rizwan Khan. He revealed that the accused, who resided in Panvel, had been plotting against Khan for a significant period.
“Our investigation suggests independent branches within the Bishnoi gang, with one possibly conducting reconnaissance in Panvel while another targeted the Bandra residence”, Pansare stated.
Reports indicate efforts by the accused to acquire AK-47 rifles for the attack, followed by a planned escape route involving Sri Lanka. This comes after a previous incident on April 14th, where two assailants on a motorcycle fired outside Khan’s Bandra apartment building.
Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, claimed responsibility on social media, citing Khan’s involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community.
