Former Indian Politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Wife Faces ₹8.5 Billion Legal Notice Over Cancer Cure Claims

Source: Times Now

In recent news, Navjot Kaur, wife of former Indian cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, has received a legal notice worth ₹8.5 billion from the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS). The notice challenges Sidhu’s public statement that Kaur overcame stage 4 cancer through dietary changes devised by their daughter.

The CCS argues that such claims could mislead cancer patients into abandoning allopathic treatments, posing significant health risks. Kaur has been given seven days to respond to the notice, failing which legal action may ensue.

Sidhu, in a recent Instagram video, claimed that Kaur had a miraculous recovery despite having only a 5% survival chance. He attributed her recovery to a diet plan involving strict meal timings, herbal teas, and a plant-based regimen, excluding refined oils.

The CCS has demanded evidence to verify whether Kaur relied solely on dietary changes or also underwent medical treatment. It expressed concern that such unverified claims undermine the credibility of allopathic medicine and could encourage risky behavior among cancer patients.

As the controversy unfolds, experts stress the importance of a balanced approach to cancer treatment, combining medical therapies with lifestyle changes. The legal proceedings could clarify the validity of these claims.
