Isr@eli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and top officials, including Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, sheltered in a bunker at Tel Aviv’s Kirya military base early Saturday morning as Isr@el launched significant airstrikes on Iran’s defense systems. A viral image captured them inside the bunker, coordinating operations during the strikes, which involved over 100 aircraft targeting 20 key sites across Iran, including missile manufacturing facilities and surface-to-air missile defenses.
The offensive was in response to escalating tensions, with Isr@el aiming to counter Iran’s growing missile production and limit its aerial capabilities. Explosions shook the Iranian provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam as Isr@el’s attack continued into the early hours, ending around 5 am local time.
Following the strikes, Iran activated its air defenses, intercepting several Isr@eli projectiles. Iran closed its airspace and paused flights temporarily, although Tehran’s main airports continued regular operations. Two Iranian soldiers were killed in the attack, while Iran reported “limited damage” to some facilities.

This action follows Iran’s recent missile retaliation on October 1, after key Iranian and allied figures were killed, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah’s Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Netanyahu vowed Iran would “pay for its grave mistake,” while Iran’s military chief, Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri warned of broader repercussions if further attacks occur.
With Isr@el’s planes now safely returned, this exchange has fueled concerns of an escalating regional conflict.
