This year, the iconic Karachi Eat Food Festival completed its 10 years and it was believed to be a major success till now.
“Gates crashed – families were harassed”
Unfortunately, the city’s biggest food festival was termed ‘the worst’ this year after the management failed to provide proper security to the attendees. Cases of harassment and groping were reported and social media is currently filled with such videos and posts.
Gates were crashed, miscreants entered the venue without tickets and families were harassed while the management failed to control the unruly crowd.
Here are some of the viral posts from last night
Imagine being a girl in this stampede of men who gatecrashed #KarachiEat last night. Pakistani men are the worst bunch when it comes to treating women but we can't stop claiming moral superiority because we're the true and pure Muslims. pic.twitter.com/Nc3gY4lOfY

There was almost a major stampede yesterday night at #KarachiEat. Barricades were broken. Women were harassed. Stuff was thrown at the performing artists. A ‘family only’ event turned into an ‘All Men’ event.

A family event turned into a 'all men' enjoyment… the Management of Karachi eat isnt to blame fully, the men trying to trespass inside the event was terrible to even watch… #KarachiEat pic.twitter.com/46BCVHSkkG

It all happened last night on the final day of the Karachi Eat Food Festival 2023 at Beach View Park, Clifton. No one knows how and when ‘Karachi Eat’ turned into ‘Karachi Beat’ but we just hope that the security arrangements get better for next year.
