New Study Finds Pakistanis Among The Most Devout Worldwide, With 98% Affirming Faith In God

A recent global survey provides fascinating insights into how belief in God varies across countries. Compiled from the Pew Research Center, World Values Survey, and Gallup’s Global Religion reports, the data shows the percentage of people in different nations who believe in a higher power.

At the top of the list are countries with strong religious traditions. Pakistan and Afghanistan lead with 98% of respondents affirming their belief in God. Indonesia and Nigeria follow closely at 97%, along with Egypt at 96%. Other highly religious nations include India and Saudi Arabia, both at 95%, and Iran and Morocco at 94%.

In contrast, Western countries display lower percentages. The United States reports 65%, while Canada follows at 61%. In Europe, belief rates are even lower, with Germany at 53% and Sweden at 54%, reflecting a more secular outlook in these regions.

Latin American countries, however, show robust belief levels. Brazil reports 90%, while Mexico and Colombia report 92% and 85%, respectively. Southeast Asia also highlights strong belief, with the Philippines at 92% and Vietnam at 86%.
