In response to a series of alleged harassment incidents in girls’ educational institutions, Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum has issued strict orders prohibiting male staff in female institutions. Chief Justice Neelum expressed frustration over the inefficiency of the Punjab Police in handling these cases and the failure to prevent the spread of a viral video linked to one incident.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice criticized the police for their lack of will to address the issues and reprimanded Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar for mishandling a recent suicide case at Punjab University. The court rejected a report from Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) for its delayed submission.

Chief Justice Neelum directed the Director General of the FIA to investigate social media accounts linked to incidents at the Punjab Group of Colleges, LCWU, and the suicide case. She emphasized that any student’s statements must be taken in the presence of their parents and school authorities to prevent coercion. The court has formed a larger bench to investigate these incidents further.
