Pakistan’s top weightlifter, Nooh Dastgir Butt, made a remarkable debut at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship, securing the title in the 120kg category. Competing for the first time in powerlifting, Butt delivered an outstanding performance, winning three gold medals and one bronze.
Butt lifted a total of 860kg in the open category, establishing himself as a dominant force in the sport. His impressive feats included a gold medal in the squat event, where he lifted 370kg, and another gold in the bench press, lifting 210kg.
In the deadlift category, Butt added a bronze medal to his collection with a lift of 280kg. His debut success has positioned him as a rising star in the powerlifting arena and a source of pride for Pakistan.
This victory marks a new chapter in Butt’s athletic career as he transitions from weightlifting to powerlifting with great success, continuing to represent his country at the highest level of competition.
