In a move raising tensions on the Korean peninsula, North Korea launched a barrage of balloons carrying propaganda leaflets and what South Korean officials suspect to be animal waste across the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) into South Korea.
The balloons, discovered scattered across various locations in the South, contained typical North Korean propaganda materials alongside bags filled with garbage. South Korean authorities have urged citizens to avoid touching the balloons and to report any sightings immediately.
