Only 1 in 10 Pakistanis Believe Country is on the Right Track: IPSOS Survey

A recent survey by the international research institute IPSOS reveals that only 11% of Pakistanis believe the country is headed in the right direction. This is a notable decline from last year’s 18%, indicating growing concerns about the nation’s economic situation.

The survey, part of the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI), shows that optimism is slightly higher among rural residents (12%) compared to urban dwellers (8%). Key issues cited by respondents include inflation (33%), unemployment (18%), and rising electricity bills (11%).

Other significant concerns include poverty (9%), power outages (7%), and the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee (3%). Additionally, 2% of respondents highlighted corruption, while 1% are concerned about interference between state institutions and the food situation.

Only 13% of respondents believe Pakistan’s economic conditions are strong, with a significant 94% finding it difficult to afford basic household items. Moreover, only 10% are optimistic about saving enough for their children’s education and marriage after retirement, reflecting the economic pressures faced by many.
