Pakistan Army Begins Operation To Rescue 8 Kids, Teachers Stuck Mid-Air In Battagram Chairlift

In a daring and swift operation, an army helicopter swooped in to rescue eight individuals, among them six school children, who found themselves suspended mid-air when a chairlift’s cable malfunctioned in the picturesque region of Allai Tehsil in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

NDMA’s prompt response

The incident unfolded on a Tuesday, creating a precarious situation as the chairlift came to a halt approximately 900 feet above the ground. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) promptly responded to the emergency, issuing a statement that highlighted the severity of the situation.

The mishap occurred due to a cable breakage, leaving the chairlift stranded and its occupants in a nerve-wracking predicament. NDMA, in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), took charge of coordinating the rescue operation.
