Pakistan Cricket Team To Train With Army For 10 Days To Improve Fitness

Source: Dawn

Pakistan’s cricket team is set to undergo an intensive ten-day training camp with the Pakistan Army at the Kakul military academy from March 25 to April 8. The training camp aims to help players improve their fitness ahead of the upcoming matches against New Zealand, Ireland, England, and the T20I World Cup.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the latest news while addressing the players at a hotel in Islamabad. He emphasized on the importance of keeping national commitments over the lure of T20 leagues.

The camp is expected to be challenging, especially as it coincides with the second half of the holy month of Ramadan. Most Pakistanis tend to prioritize family or religious activities over work during this period. Additionally, the squad players will be fasting, which could make it difficult to undergo rigorous training.

PCB is currently without a coaching set-up at the national level and Naqvi mentioned that the board is in touch with potential options. The board is committed to spending money on cricket, from grassroots right through to the national team and will spare no expense in hiring the best coaches to provide the players with the necessary training and facilities.
