The two nations, led by President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan and visiting Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, emphasized the need for increased humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause while Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his appreciation for this longstanding solidarity during Gaza’s current crisis.

Beyond the immediate crisis, the leaders explored avenues for strengthening cooperation on various fronts. They emphasized the importance of operationalizing existing bilateral trade mechanisms to achieve a tenfold increase in trade volume, reaching a target of $10 billion.

The deep historical and cultural bonds between Pakistan and Iran were highlighted with President Zardari calling for further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit. He also expressed gratitude to President Raisi for being the first Head of State to visit Pakistan after the recent general elections, underscoring the strong commitment between the two nations.
