Pakistan Is Now Officially Out Of T20 World Cup 2024

Source: Dawn

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign came to an unfortunate end on Friday after their fate was sealed by the weather. The crucial match between the United States and Ireland was washed out due to heavy rain and flooding in South Florida. The game, already delayed by over three hours, was eventually called off as ground staff struggled to remove standing water from the outfield.

Earlier in the week, the match between Sri Lanka and Nepal, scheduled for Tuesday at Lauderhill, was also abandoned due to similar weather conditions. Despite multiple inspections by umpires on Friday morning, the persistent downpour made play impossible.

As a result, the United States advanced to the Super Eights stage, joining group leaders India. This left Pakistan, along with Ireland and Canada, eliminated from the tournament. The adverse weather conditions in South Florida played a decisive role in shaping the outcomes of these crucial matches, highlighting the unpredictability and challenges of outdoor sports events.
