A significant step was taken by the Pakistani government against Iran by suspending all diplomatic alliances after Irani forces launched a missile attack on the country’s soil. As per media reports, the operation targeted the militant group Jaish al-Adl, which Tehran’s foreign minister described as an “Iranian terrorist group” hiding in Pakistan.
Pakistan targeted after Iraq and Syria
The attack occurred in Balochistan following Iran’s targeted attacks in Iraq and Syria earlier this week. Pakistani officials revealed that two children were killed and three others were seriously injured in the attack. Calling it ‘illegal’, Islamabad issued a statement reiterating that Iran’s such decisions could result in severe consequences.
According to sources, an Iranian strike in Pakistan hit a village in the vast southwestern province of Balochistan. Responding to the claims, Tehran said it was targeting Jaish al-Adl, or “army of justice,” an ethnic Baloch Sunni Muslim group that has carried out attacks inside Iran as well as on Pakistani government forces.
Over the years, both Iran and Pakistan have accused each other of sheltering militants along their shared 559-mile border from time to time. Tehran points the finger at Jaish al-Adl, a militant group operating in southeastern Iran and on the Pakistan-Iran border, saying it has carried out attacks within Iranian territory.

However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian, speaking in Davos, insisted that no Pakistani citizens were targeted. Furthermore, he had spoken to his Pakistani counterpart and “assured him that we do respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan and Iraq.”
On Wednesday, China urged Pakistan and Iran to show restraint and avoid actions that would escalate tensions in the region. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning added that Beijing saw the countries as neighbors. While on the other side, Islamabad said it had recalled its ambassador to Iran, and the Iranian ambassador would not be allowed back into the country for an indefinite period.
