Financial rewards continue for Pakistan’s cricket team despite their recent first-round exit from the T20 World Cup 2024.
Each player is set to receive a significant payout, including match fees of Rs.1,674,336, a daily allowance exceeding Rs.550,000, and a share of the ICC’s distribution for participation in the tournament, amounting to over Rs.4.3 million per player. Victories in two matches against Canada & Ireland will bring an additional Rs.1.1 million per player.
These payouts are a result of successful negotiations for the 2023-24 central contracts, securing players a 3% share of ICC earnings and boosting their monthly salaries.

However, this financial success comes amidst a backdrop of on-field struggles. The team’s early exit from the T20 World Cup, including losses to the USA and India, raises concerns about their performance. Pakistan’s ranking has also slipped to seventh in the T20 format, a significant drop from their previous top position.
Looking ahead, the 2024-25 and 2025-26 contracts may see further increases tied to ICC revenue, though the Pakistan Cricket Board is reportedly considering discontinuing this benefit.
