Humanity still prevails, even if humans fail
Karachi Star Restaurant, a Pakistani-owned restaurant in the UAE, has been serving up free meals to the needy for the last eight years. The restaurant, located in the bustling city of Sharjah, has made it its mission to provide food to those who are less fortunate and struggling to make ends meet.
Setting an example for others to follow
The restaurant’s owner, Shahid Asghar Bangash who hails from Pakistan, believes in giving back to the community and making a positive impact on people’s lives. He and his team of volunteers work tirelessly to prepare and distribute hundreds of meals every day, reaching out to laborers and low-income workers who cannot afford to buy food.
Speaking on the great initiative, the owner said, “People who are jobless, or on a visit visa, or whose visas have expired can come to our restaurants in Muweilah and Saja, Sharjah, and we will provide them with a free meal. We offer this service to people in need, irrespective of any country they belong to”.
“We receive people mainly from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Africa who lose a job and run out of money. They can come to us and just tell us that they’re on a visit visa and don’t have money”, he added.

Further, he stated that the service is not limited to any community but is available for all, “We don’t have any terms and conditions for such people. They can order anything available on that day. We’ve also set a code word among restaurant workers for such people so we ask the staff at the restaurants to place an order for them so that it doesn’t hurt their self-respect and nobody else in the restaurant also comes to know about them”.
The Karachi Star Restaurant’s noble initiative is a shining example of generosity and compassion, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps and make a difference in their own communities.
