Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for October 2024. He earned this recognition due to his outstanding performances in the ICC World Test Championship matches. Noman is one of three players shortlisted for the award, all of whom are celebrated for their ability to take wickets.
Noman’s impressive return to Test cricket helped Pakistan secure a dramatic comeback victory over England in October. Across two Tests in Multan and Rawalpindi, the 38-year-old claimed 20 wickets at an outstanding average of 13.85. His exceptional bowling, particularly in the second innings of both matches, was instrumental, with figures of eight for 46 and six for 42, sealing Pakistan’s success.
In addition to his bowling, Noman made valuable contributions with the bat, scoring 45 runs in the first innings of the final Test. Partnered with fellow spinner Sajid Khan, Noman’s performance was a constant challenge for England’s lineup on the spinning pitches.
