Pakistan’s Tallest Man Zia Rashid Passes Away At 37 After Prolonged Illness

In recent news, Zia Rashid, recognized as Pakistan’s tallest man, passed away recently after battling a prolonged illness. Coincidentally on the 26th death anniversary of Mohammad Alam Channa, a former tallest man globally.

Zia, the youngest of five brothers, breathed his last at 37 years old in his hometown of 94 WB near Vehari. There he was laid to rest following funeral prayers. The funeral was attended by local political figures, social dignitaries, as well as friends and family.

Standing at an impressive 8 feet two and a half inches tall, his towering stature made him a notable figure in his community. While some reports cite his height as exactly 8 feet, surpassing the previously noted tallest Pakistani, Naseer Soomro, these measurements remain unverified by the Guinness Book of Records.

Born in 1987, Zia’s growth began in his teenage years, reaching 7 feet 10 inches by the age of 18. His siblings, Dr. Majid Rashid, Dr. Saqib Rashid, Aqib Rashid, and Kashif Rashid, all grew up to average heights, contrasting sharply with Zia’s extraordinary stature.
