The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a game-changing move by acquiring a multi-storied apartment complex near Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The building will undergo a complete transformation into a hotel to help tackle the accommodation challenges faced by national and international players.
Luxury living for Pakistan’s cricket stars?
According to reports, the PCB has invested a whopping Rs.4 billion to procure this state-of-the-art facility. The conversion process is underway and once completed, the hotel will provide luxurious and comfortable accommodations for the players.
Construction on the building began several years ago by a separate developer but was halted due to security concerns raised by the PCB. Despite initial bookings by individuals, legal complexities prompted the builder to offer the property to the PCB for purchase which proved to be a strategic move for both parties.

This move is anticipated to not only mitigate accommodation issues for players but also alleviate the financial strain on the board which currently expends significant funds on lodging arrangements in private hotels in Lahore. Moreover, the establishment of this hotel will contribute to the community by minimizing disruptions caused by road closures during team movements.
