In recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly agreed to a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, as per Indian media reports. However, the PCB has set conditions regarding its future participation in ICC events, potentially altering the dynamics of international cricket.
The PCB has proposed not sending its team to India for any ICC tournaments until 2031. It has also requested that matches between Pakistan and India in major events, such as the 2026 T20 World Cup, 2029 Champions Trophy, and 2031 Cricket World Cup, be held at neutral venues. Dubai has been suggested as the venue for the 2029 Champions Trophy.
Additionally, the PCB is pushing for a larger share of ICC’s annual revenue, citing logistical and financial challenges. This demand reflects Pakistan’s strategic concerns as it navigates hosting and participating in international tournaments.

As talks continue, the cricketing world awaits clarity on these critical developments in the lead-up to the 2025 Champions Trophy.
