The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a significant step in addressing the financial repercussions of the recent relocation of Asia Cup matches to Sri Lanka. In an official move, the PCB has requested compensation from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for the losses incurred as a result of this decision.

Zaka Ashraf’s concerns

PCB Chairman, Rameez Raja, expressed his disappointment regarding the way the ACC handled the scheduling of matches in Sri Lanka. Although he refrained from naming individuals, he did raise questions about the decision-making process behind the venue changes. Raja emphasized that there was a notable lack of consultation with other ACC board members, leading to concerns about transparency and fairness.

The letter sent by PCB references a meeting involving ACC members from Sri Lanka and Pakistan, during which it was decided to move matches to Hambantota based on favorable weather forecasts. The PCB contends that the ACC subsequently confirmed this decision through email communication and was in the process of making an official announcement.
