After India’s Invitation, PM Shehbaz Sharif To Attend SCO Meeting Virtually Next Month

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to attend the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting, which will be held virtually on July 4 in New Delhi.

The decision to switch to a virtual format was made by India, although no official reasons were provided. However, reports suggest that the physical attendance of Russia and China may not have been feasible. The Pakistani government has confirmed the receipt of an official invitation from the Indian Prime Minister for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to participate in the virtual meeting of SCO Heads of State.

A spokeswoman from the Pakistani Foreign Office stated during the weekly briefing that Pakistan will be represented at the summit. An official announcement regarding Pakistan’s participation will be made in the coming days.
