Police have made significant progress in the kidnapping and robbery case of renowned screenwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar. The primary suspects, including a female accomplice, have been arrested.
The suspects were apprehended with the aid of CCTV footage and are currently in police custody, undergoing interrogation. The main plotter has been identified as Hassan Shah. Police conducted a raid in Nankana Sahib to capture Shah. Although he managed to evade arrest, several of his accomplices were detained.
One of the arrested suspects, Amina, had been in contact with Qamar for five to six days before the incident. She invited Qamar to her house under the pretense of discussing a drama project. Upon his arrival, armed men abducted him and robbed him.

Qamar was forced to pay a large sum to secure his release. The police report states that Qamar was tortured, taken to various locations, and threatened with death. The suspects also stole his belongings and transferred Rs250,000 from his ATM card.
