A newly opened coffee shop, Third Culture Coffee, located on the premises of the Model Town A Block Police Station in Lahore, is transforming the traditional image of law enforcement spaces. Established in September 2024, the café offers a relaxing environment for the public while fostering a positive image of the police force.

The concept originated in 2022 when ASP Shehrbano Naqvi suggested a pet-friendly café idea to Suleman Khan, owner of the popular Third Culture Coffee. Encouraged by Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, the café was set up with the aim of bridging the gap between police officials and the community. The café’s serene lawn, shaded by citrus trees, has become a secure, family-friendly spot where civilians and police officers interact informally.

The initiative aligns with community-centric policing, focusing on transparency and accessibility.“This project shows that police stations can be welcoming spaces,” said ASP Naqvi.

Despite initial skepticism, the café has gained popularity, hosting fundraisers and concerts. Police officials receive discounts, with special rates for families of martyred officers. The success of the venture has sparked interest in replicating it across other police stations, leveraging prime real estate for welfare and community-building purposes.
