Pro-Palestine Activists Killed During Sit-In Protest In Islamabad

A man identified as Roman Sajid tragically lost his life early Wednesday morning during a pro-Palestine sit-in protest at D-Chowk, Islamabad. According to reports, Mr. Sajid, and one other protestor, while sleeping, were struck by a speeding black car at approximately 3:00 am. Moreover, reports of at least four others getting injured also started coming in.

No cameras working in the high-surveillance zone?

The incident raised concerns that none of the CCTV cameras reportedly positioned at D-Chowk, a known high-surveillance zone in Islamabad, were functional at the time. While circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear, calls for a thorough investigation started gaining traction.

After the incident, the driver of the car sped away but was later apprehended by the police. Despite the tragedy, the protesters remained resolute. They stated that the incident had not dampened their spirits and they would continue their demonstration, urging the government to take stronger actions against Israeli military operations in Palestine.
