Last Sunday, a Qatar Airways flight (QR017) flying from Doha to Dublin encountered severe turbulence while over Turkey, injuring twelve people.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner landed safely at Dublin Airport shortly before 1:00 PM local time. However, upon landing, emergency services, including police, ambulances, and fire crews, were waiting to assist.
According to Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), six passengers and six crew members reported injuries. Eight of them were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation. Passengers described a terrifying experience.
The turbulence reportedly struck during food and beverage service, catching many people off guard. One passenger recounted the plane dropping for several seconds, causing food and drinks to fly everywhere.

The cause of the turbulence remains unknown. DAA officials confirmed that their team provided full support to passengers and airline staff on the ground.
